AISHWARYA – whenever this Hindi word comes to anyone’s mind,
which itself hides immense potential and power, an image of a person (if
personified, either virtual or real) having uncountable wealth, immaculate grandeur,
profusion and prosperity starts taking shape in front of our eyes. And, when
this noun associates itself with a surname “RAI” (now, “BACHCHAN” too), an
image of a beautiful, lovely and admiring face with a well-shaped body excite
us. Really, she is the real queen of Bollywood who not only established herself
as a successful actress in this rapidly changing industry but also, had brought
profound happiness to this country when she was crowned as Miss World and added
another colourful feather to its cap.
Today, I was watching the opening ceremony of second season
of ISL-2015 and Arjun Kapoor was hosting the magnificent show with sparkling
performances from Alia Bhatt, A R Rahman, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and others.
Previously, when the show host used to announce name of “AISHWARYA” for the
next performance with numerous adjectives showcasing her perfect blend of
beauty, intellect and grace, her performance used to be far better and
energetic than anyone could imagine. During the opening ceremony of ISL-2015,
her name was announced like before but, her performance wasn’t as energetic and
graceful as it used to be. It may be possible that her present age doesn’t
allow her to perform with such ease and grace like before or, maybe I have
perceived her performance wrongly. I have seen her performance on the evergreen
song from her movie “DEVDAS” – “DOLA RE DOLA”, in which she had danced beyond
her limit and our imagination and, her today’s performance on the same song was
too far from the original.
It’s not only her case. In fact, there are many actresses in
Bollywood who after getting married couldn’t made a powerful comeback. If they
made it then, it’s only for a single movie. They don’t enjoy the same position
as it was way back. Is this because they are now a mother? Or, is this because
the directors and producers hesitate to spend money and make a film with them?
Or, because we aren’t ready to welcome them with so much love like before. Whatever
be the reason, it’s a bitter truth that we aren’t able to give enough space to
women after they get married which, they certainly deserve. Be it in
professional life – Business, Film Industry, Sports, or, be it personal life.
The real is question is – where we are lacking as well as lagging. We always
talk about gender equality and women empowerment but, we do forget to apply
that at our own home.
We need to change our attitude towards women
and, should start treating them equally. Every married couple should share
their responsibilities equally and give enough space to each other so that
everyone can prosper in their respective field. Life is like a four wheel car
and, each wheel needs equal power on a straight road and, a dynamic balancing
between the inner and outer wheels on a curve to move the car without skidding
and overturning.
